Who never imagined a ninja while looking out of the window on the road trip? I could probably count a few, but don't you worry - now you can experience this born out of boredom game of imagination as an actual game.

Controls:

  • Escape → pause menu, change volume, start a new game
  • W/Arrow up and S/Arrow down → change lanes
  • D/Arrow right → increase speed, rng is a b**ch sometimes
  • Space/Enter → yeah, ok, skip.

There are 3 important numbers, yeah I know - scary. Those are: hits, combo, and imagination. Hits serve as both your hit points and attacks. When you hit an obstacle your amazing warrior will just slash it into oblivion(at the small cost of 1 hit), this is a desirable behavior on most constructs of your imagination though. You can regenerate your hits either at the cost of your imagination when you get hit while already being at 0 hits or - more preferable - by changing lanes just as you are about to be hit. The latter option has a chance to regenerate your hit based on how low on hits you are - the less you have the more chance you regenerate 1 hit. Combo is the measure of you staying true to your imagination -  avoiding that what is real and fighting that what you brought to life. Dodging(changing lanes at the last moment) contributes to the combo, as well as hitting enemies brought by your imagination(this action awards 2 points). At certain stages of this combo your imagination level will increase. After playtesting and tearing my hair out after zeroing combo when I messed up I made it simpler for my convenience and it only lowers your combo instead of completely annihilating it, you're welcome. Lastly, imagination is necessary to doze off and eventually fall asleep(aka win the game), it also increases difficulty of your current level.

PS. Easy is doable. Normal was doable by me a few hours ago(although I went just a tiny bit more bald).

games cool! i don't know if i was missing something but dodging felt unreliable sometimes. like sometimes id get a combo dodging far away from an object but i wouldn't get a combo dodging close from an object. Some kind of visual aid might be cool to help get a feel how close you need to be to the object. really good job so far tho! keep up the good work!

Thanks for noticing that. After waking up and looking at the project, a few collisions were actually slightly too big and one alternative texture was not exactly contained in similar space as the others. Fixed it all(hopefully), so that should be more reliable.
